CR Home, the Construction Resources, Inc. Design Center, offers consumers, designers, builders and remodelers a one-stop resource for kitchens, baths and any room of the home. More than just a supplier of products, CR Home has staff designers to bring plans into focus; fabricators and a state-of-the-art production facility to create beautiful and precise countertops; and installers to provide professional, on-time and courteous service. Perhaps most important for busy homeowners and professionals, the staff of experienced Project Managers coordinates every project until the finishing touches are complete.
The Construction Resources, Inc., family of businesses was born in 1970 when Fred E. Hires, Sr. and partners opened Atlanta Marble Mfg. in Decatur, GA. Atlanta Marble Mfg. experienced modest growth through 1996 and cultured marble remained its only product offering. Fred’s sons, Mitch and Sonny Hires, grew up working in the business during summers and holidays while attending school and post-graduation from the University of Georgia.
In 1996, Mitch and Sonny were able to purchase their father’s partners’ interest from the company. They immediately saw an opportunity to diversify their product offering and expanded into kitchen countertops by opening Atlanta Kitchen in 1996. This successful diversification led to other complementary products and geographical expansion into other states.
